Website updates are coming: I need to change the cover on the home page, as that's no longer the closest release! "Continuing Education", my story in the Gotta Have It anthology edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, will be releasing to the wild soon...
I've added a Twitter feed to the page, if you didn't notice. You can follow me by looking up @Anyalevinauthor, if you're interested!
Upcoming plans: lots of neat new anthology calls, so I'm trying to carve out time for them! No promises on what I'll get written, but I have (what I think is) a great idea for a story for Circlet's Like a Treasure Found call, and am working on putting together something for the Women on the Edge of Space call, as that one seems right up my alley. We'll see how things go.
Last -- a few words from a different story I'm working on:
Sal coughed back a snort at the offer of a cell phone. She'd probably had one before little Naomi had budded those magnificent breasts of hers. The thought made her feel old. "A ride would be good, thanks," she said gruffly.
I've been notified that the release is imminent for Gotta Have It: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex, edited by Rachel Kramel Bussel. My story in the anthology is called "Continuing Ed". While I've had releases before, the actual occasion itself is always exciting, and this time is no different!
I'll be posting a snippet later on!
You can preorder Gotta Have It at Amazon now for it's February 1, 2011 release date!
Thought someone might like to see a picture.
It's been a bit since I've posted, yes. (Special Project, hush-hush.) But I'm back, and I've got news!
Now, I've been notified that my story "Continuing Education" is going to be published in the Cleis Press anthology Gotta Have It, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. It's an anthology of quickie stories, but I had a blast writing mine and am so happy that it found a place in the anthology! The book is scheduled for release in 2011, so I'll share more information as I have it.
And... You may remember the nail-biting revisions. Everything was worth it in the end, including the late-night worries. My story "An Unusual Legacy" was accepted for publication in the Circlet Press anthology Masked Pleasures, edited by Jennifer Levine. It's a futuristic story with a nice sizzle to it, and I'm so pleased to be an author in the anthology!
Now, (and it's entirely my fault, because of the Special Project), because it's been so long since I've posted I can share not only the acceptance for "An Unusual Legacy", but also the gorgeous cover for Masked Pleasures. So, for your viewing pleasure:
Today is the official launch day for Like A Veil: Erotic Tales of the Arabian Nights! (You can't see it, but I'm doing a little happy dance to see it finally out in the big, wide world!) The anthology is available from a variety of sites -- start with the official Circlet Press page, which has links to many other sites!
My story in the anthology is entitled "Her Way", and it's about a woman searching for a lost city...and finding something even more important. I like to think the story is sexy, heated, and reflective of the mystery and mysticism that goes hand-in-hand with the idea of "Arabian Nights."
If you want to read some of "Her Way", it's the official excerpt on the Circlet Press page for the book. (Though the text is strangely doubled at this moment.) I'll post the excerpt on the site later, and will be posting more about how the story came about as the week goes on!
I hope you are enticed enough to pick up the book, and if you have a chance, I'd love to hear what you think of it!
So it's not quite the "Official" Launch date, but the Like a Veil: Erotic Tales of the Arabian Nights anthology has been spotted for sale! Notably, it's available at Amazon for the Kindle. I've been assured that there will be a lovely page up on the Circlet Press site on the launch date -- August 30, 2010. (I can't wait!)
Oh, and isn't that cover just completely gorgeous?
So I've seen the proofs for "Her Way", soon to be available in the book Like a Veil. (A book which has a totally gorgeous cover!) It makes it real that soon I'll have another story out. How exciting!
Also, I've gotten an email about another submission -- I'm not going to talk details about this one yet -- and the editor of the anthology wants some revisions and will consider the story again. I'm very happy it wasn't a rejection, and am now curiously invigorated by the revision suggestions the editor has made. However, revisions are tough for me, and I find just contemplating them puts me on tenterhooks.
I'll do my best!
